As we enter the height of the holiday season, everyone here at SEO James, a digital marketing agency in Boca Raton, Florida, agrees that we have a lot to be thankful for. But that doesn’t mean that we start off every day feeling jolly.
It can be hard getting into the spirit of the season even in the best of years and we can all agree that in no way, shape or form does 2020 rank as the best of years.
Don’t worry, it’s not just you. This can be a very stressful time of year, of course, but it is also the time of year with the longest nights and the shortest days (this year’s Winter Solstice on Monday, December 21 is the longest of the long nights).
In ancient times, those long nights were a dark, challenging time for people. Even today, millions of people suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, which experts believe is brought on by the reduced exposure to sunlight.
So, the fact that we celebrate the winter holidays with candles and displays of lights is no accident. For centuries, shining a light into the darkest part of the year has helped people to keep going.
So, if you are struggling a bit (despite the fact that 2020 is almost over!), consider checking out some of the local holiday light displays in your community. It can be a safe, socially distanced way to enjoy a little holiday cheer.
Holiday Lights in Palm Beach County
Lots of traditional holiday events had to be canceled this year because of Covid-19, but the lights are shining brightly in neighborhoods up and down the Florida coast and at big, beautiful light displays.
Modern Boca Mom put together a roundup of the holiday light shows and events you can enjoy if you are lucky enough to live in South Florida, where our internet marketing agency is based. Here are a two of our favorites:
- Sandi Tree
The City of West Palm Beach’s holiday display revolves around a big “tree” made of sculpted sand and features light and music shows as well as special events. Through December 31
- Holiday Fun at Rosemary Square (formerly CityPlace)
“As the second season at the newly redesigned Rosemary Square approaches, make plans to visit the enchanted destination anchored by a modern twist of a holiday tree,” Modern Boca Mom says. “The majestic Wishing Tree, a 32-foot-tall LED banyan tree, will feature a spectacular light show every night from Nov. 14-Dec 31 topped with a holiday star!” You can also enjoy what she calls a “mesmerizing nightly snowfall.” Through December 31
Best wishes for the holidays and New Year from all of us at SEOJames!
