Not surprisingly, the team here at SEO James, a digital marketing company based in lovely Boca Raton, Florida, spends a lot of time online. And we cannot tell a lie, not all of that time is dedicated to search engine optimization. Lately – when we’re not hard at work on a client’s SEO strategy, we have been taking advantage of all the wonderful content designed to help keep us entertained while we stay safe at home.
In case you haven’t noticed, there is a wealth of virtual offerings to explore that have appeared online since Covid-19 sent us all to the safety of our own homes. You can tour some of the world’s most famous museums, listen to likes of Andrea Bocelli and Chris Martin share a song or visit the far-flung lands you’ve only dreamed of traveling to. You can take classes from Yale for free and attend glamorous online shindigs.
“While travel has come to a near standstill during the coronavirus pandemic, technology is allowing you to visit almost any place on the planet in the blink of an eye,” says Laura Begley Bloom on Forbes.com. “According to Google Keyword Planner data, searches for the term ‘virtual tour’ increased seven times—from 1,300 in February to almost 10,000 in March, when governments around the world began locking down countries and cities. And as billions of people around the world continue to shelter in place, the numbers keep rising.”
Searching Online for Virtual Tours
In case you haven’t been taking advantage of this wealth of online content and have some catching up to do, you will be happy to know that there is also an abundance of lists touting the best virtual tours, classes, events – you name it. The only question is where to start.
Ms. Bloom referred to the list of the most popular virtual tours based on Google searches put together by InsureMyTrip. Their top 10 consists of:
- The Louvre
- San Diego Zoo
- Disney World
- Great Wall of China
- The Guggenheim
- Google Arts Project: Street Art
- Eiffel Tower
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art
- Georgia Aquarium
- The London National Gallery
We thought about putting together a virtual tour of the SEO James offices in Boca Raton, but we decided some things are better left to the imagination!
